Fraud and abuse in the 20-year-old “Medicare Advantage” program have already prompted two lawmakers to propose a name change for private plans that drink thirstily at the public trough.
Now, two other lawmakers are leading the fight to stop the incipient ACO REACH program explained in the video. In contrast to Medicare Advantage plans, which seniors choose (often unwisely), the new program shifts seniors from traditional Medicare into privately managed plans without their understanding and consent. This latest “innovation” allows for even bigger profits by corporate managers.
Take action to stop this far-reaching challenge to public Medicare. Advocate with your members of Congress to back a publicly funded Medicare for All program designed for people not profits.
