This event has passed. This forum featured speakers from Healthy California Now, a statewide coalition dedicated to creating a publicly financed single payer healthcare system, and from the Health4All Campaign which has worked successfully for inclusion of all income-eligible undocumented immigrants in the state MediCal program. Groups in the Health4All coalition include the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, Inland Empire Partnership, Health Access, and ACLU So Cal.
The forum was organized to focus on healthcare victories, lessons learned, and building the movement to guarantee health care for all Californians. Governor Newsom’s Healthy California Now Commission released a report after two years of meeting to determine a path forward for a unified financing system that would support equitable health care for everyone living in the state. Event organizers say now is a critical time to move forward with the building blocks to achieve this.
