The Contra Costa and Alameda county chapters of Health Care for All – CA invite you to an IN-PERSON presentation and discussion about issues with healthcare costs, quality, and equity–and about remedies for these problems that affect us.

As we all know, healthcare costs are rising at an unsustainable rate, and many in California are not able to gain access to the care they need. Employers are having trouble negotiating fair salaries for employees because of rising costs of benefits.  And while we spend much more on healthcare than any other developed country, the coverage and quality continue to be ranked lower. We encourage employers, healthcare providers, and consumers to attend and participate.

Thursday, May 9 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Lafayette Library and Learning Center Community Hall,
3491 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette

Speakers for the event are:

  • Jim Kahn, MD, a healthcare economist and professor at the Institute for Health Policy Studies, UCSF Medical School
  • Laurel Lucia, Health Care Program Director for the University of California Berkeley Labor Center and a consultant to the Healthy California for All Commission.

Q&A will follow the event.
