This national online discussion on October 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. will focus on issues originally raised a number of years ago by journalist T.R. Reid in the illuminating PBS Frontline documentary, “Sick Around the World”. The film examines healthcare systems in different capitalist democracies. The event  is sponsored by Community Documentary Night and Physicians for a National Health Program.

Attendees will be grouped with others throughout the country to engage in discussion about the status of health care in the U.S. Everyone is encouraged to watch the film first on YouTube.

Former Washington Post foreign bureau chief T.R. Reid will answer questions about the issues he reported on in this thought-provoking documentary. Now retired, Reid has been working steadily for universal health care where he lives in Colorado. He wrote, “The Healing of America,” about how U.S. health care compares with that of other wealthy countries.
