The One Payer States group invites us to tune in on Monday, August 7 at 5 p.m. to the following special session of its monthly Office Hour

“Come hear future physicians passionate about affordable, equitable health care for all talk about a new publicly-funded health care system in Cyprus. How did Cyprus do this? After the presentation, Dr. John Santa will discuss what we can learn from Cyprus’ experience.”

Dr. John Santa will lead the presentation. He is a retired primary care doctor who was the administrator of the Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research and served on the state’s Task Force on Universal Health Care. Two interns from Physicians for a National Health Program will join Dr. Santa. Maria Liong is a second-generation Cypriot refugee who will be entering medical school. Samy Amkieh of Louisiana and Syria, is a medical school student at Dartmouth.
