June 23 - Urgent Action!
WE NEED CALLS, EMAILS, TWEETS AND FACEBOOK POSTS STARTING NOW THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO NEXT WEEK CALLING ON RENDON TO REVERSE HIS COWARDLY ACTION TO HOLD OUR BILL!
A quote from statement that Rendon released at today (A afternoon!):
“In light of this, I have decided SB 562 will remain in the Assembly Rules Committee until further notice. "“Because this is the first year of a two-year session, this action does not mean SB 562 is dead. In fact, it leaves open the exact deep discussion and debate the senators who voted for SB 562 repeatedly said is needed."
Anthony Rendon, Speaker of the Assembly (D-63)
Healthy California joins the California Nurses and other supporters of guaranteed healthcare in condemning the insider, secret action by Speaker Rendon to stop SB 562 (see release below). Immediate action is needed! Join our canvass in his district and all, tweet, Facebook, email Speaker Rendon today and through the weekend to send a strong message. With federal attacks on our healthcare moving forward, we know SB 562 is the ONLY solution that saves billions and covers everyone. With 70% support in California, Speaker Rendon is standing between us and guaranteed healthcare for all.
What to say when you call:
“I strongly support S.B. 562, the Healthy California Act, because every Californian deserves guaranteed healthcare. I’m urging Speaker Rendon to stop doing secret insider deals on our healthcare. He must move SB 562 forward as the best solution to the federal attacks on our healthcare. No other solution saves billions and covers everyone with medical, dental, vision, mental health and more.”
Everyone Is Covered
During the livestream press conference (May 31, 2017) for the release of the fiscal analysis for SB 562, the Healthy California Act, we learned that everyone is covered AND WE SAVE MONEY!
The fiscal analysis was realeased for the Healthy California Act - SB 562, that shows we can save 74 billion dollars a year while guaranteeing healthcare for all! We also released a recent poll showing SB 562 is wildly popular, with 81% of Californians saying we should ensure healthcare for all and 70% saying that the Healthy Califonia Act is the right way to do it.
- Healthy California would save $74 billion on our current healthcare system...and cover everyone!!!
- Low and middle income households would save almost 10% on healthcare.
- ALL businesses would save money and small businesses currently paying for healthcare would save up to 22%!
