Chapters: Santa Barbara County

Welcome to the Santa Barbara County Chapter

The Santa Barbara Chapter currently holds meetings via zoom on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. The meetings are essentially business-oriented but there is time for Q & A and brainstorming. All are welcome to join but please contact santabarbara@healthcareforall.org to obtain the zoom link.

Currently we are tabling on a monthly basis as much as possible, typically 11am to 3pm at a busy State Street location.

Here are some pictures of our activities.

About the Santa Barbara County Chapter

The chapter has been active since its founding by HCA-CA co-founder Carole Marks nearly 25 years ago. We are a growing all-volunteer group dedicated to building support throughout our community for a statewide single-payer system. We invite single-payer supporters in business, labor, non-profits, the health field, education, ethnic and faith communities, the arts, and senior, service, women’s, and neighborhood groups–everyone–to become actively engaged in the movement for guaranteed universal health care. Success will come when we have a critical mass of visible public support coupled with strong political leadership. Please join us!

Here’s how to pitch in. Support HCA’s statewide advocacy work and local chapter activities by clicking on Join/Renew above and contributing any amount to become an HCA member. Host a neighborhood conversation in your home. Table with an experienced volunteer at the farmer’s market or a nearby supermarket. Ask a local business owner or community leader to endorse single payer (ask us for the form). Write a letter to the editor. Invite a speaker and/or screen a film with your group.
