The California Nurses Association (CNA), sponsor of last session’s AB 1400 CalCare bill and previous single payer bills, has launched a campaign for a new two-year bill, AB 1690 (Kalra). This year, the union will be developing the content of the bill in tandem with legislators with the aim of building support for passage next year. At the same time, the campaign is engaging volunteers to promote public awareness and constituent support.
