On February 23, Michael Lighty, president of the Healthy California Now statewide coalition (HCN), was the featured speaker at the annual HCA membership meeting. He started off with a plea for a society based on “caring, compassion, and community.”
On March 26, Dr. Ed Weisbart, a popular Missouri-based speaker with Physicians for a National Health Program, spoke to the HCA and PNHP Humboldt chapters. He talked about the unifying value of a single payer system for Americans with different perspectives.
